*Design Works Internet* began its operations in the early 90’s under the name of *Design COMP*, providing /graphic/ and /page design services/ to individuals, small business owners, and agencies in Erie County Ohio and the surrounding regions. By the mid 90’s, its services expanded to include the creation of web pages as well as other electronic documents. As this decade drew to a close, more and more of the work *Design COMP* did was connected to the /Internet/. The importance of /web standards/ [1] in code to ensure /accessibility/ and /usability/ quickly became evident as a means of controlling development costs. With the turn of the millennium, however, /new trends in expectations/ from a web site became evident. Business was demanding more from their sites than just informational or marketing solutions. There was a need for data to move seamlessly between a database housed on a web server into Intranet information systems with a strong need for security and privacy. Better communication outreach between one organization and its partners or suppliers was needed. The importance of /search engine optimization/ (*SEO*) techniques to maintain one’s competitive advantage grew. At the same time, the ability to add or alter content on a web server at will without the need to know HTML coding grew in the face of rapid changes in ongoing strategies and operations.
